After the armed invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, russian propagandists made an absurd statement to justify their leader’s actions: they claimed that Ukrainian scientific laboratories have been developing biological weapons designed specifically to destroy the Slavic ethnic group in the form of various deadly diseases transmitted by migratory birds.
Thus, the unknown wild goose, which destroyed the enemy’s aircraft by sacrificing its life, not only became a national hero in Ukraine but also birthed many memes.
But the war continues. Ukrainians are now trying to help their army in any way possible, with maximum effort to provide for relatives and friends fighting on the front lines to protect lives and defend freedom.
Ukrainian volunteer Olga Chivaryuk sews military outfits and uses the fabric leftovers to create such wonderful souvenirs in memory of wild geese that helped Ukrainians destroy the enemy.
